ATHENS, Ohio-The American wrestling team jumped out to a 24-0 lead and never looked back as the 10th-ranked Eagles claimed a 30-10 win over Ohio Sunday afternoon in the Convocation Center.
The Eagles improved to 12-4 overall, while Ohio dropped to 7-4.
After dropping the first six bouts, Ohio's Nick Purdue, Ryan Garringer and 16th-ranked Erik Schuth all registered victories at 174, 184 and 197, respectively. Garringer's win was by major decision over Thomas Barreiro by a score of 10-2.
The Bobcats will be back in action Friday, in the Convo, at 7 p.m. ET against 13th-ranked Central Michigan.
