Ohio-Chattanooga Results

ATHENS, Ohio-The Ohio wrestling squad got pins from Jeremy Johnson and Gabe Ramos, but it wasn't enough as visiting Chattanooga defeated the Bobcats 20-18 Monday evening in the Convocation Center.

The Mocs got out to a fast start as Alex Hudson (149), Josh Condon (157) and Daniel Waddell (165) all picked up victories by decision, while Ohio's Nick Purdue put the Bobcats on the board at 174 with a 7-2 win over Brandon Wright.

Chattanooga's Jason McCroskey (11-5 decision) and Nikolas Brown (13-5 major decision) triumphed at 184 and 197, respectively, but Ohio got consecutive pins from Johnson (285) and Ramos (125) and a 7-1 decision by Gavin Moore at 133 to take an 18-16 lead. However, the Mocs' Shawn Greevy registered a 13-0 win to salt away the victory for the visitors.

Chattanooga improved to 5-6 with the win, while Ohio dropped to 3-3.

The Bobcats will travel to Northern Illinois on Friday, Jan. 14 for their next match.
