RALEIGH, N.C.-The Ohio wrestling team turned in a sparkling performance Saturday en route to a pair of wins over Campbell and NC State at a tri-meet in Raleigh, N.C. The Bobcats routed Campbell 57-0 and topped the host Wolfpack 29-12.
Ohio improved to 6-3 overall with the victories.
The Bobcats made short work of Campbell, winning all 10 matches, only one of which went the full seven minutes. The Bobcats recorded eight pins, a technical fall and a major decision in dismantling the Camels in under an hour. Erik Schuth recorded the fastest win of the day with a pin in 15 seconds at 197.
Gabe Ramos (125), Gavin Moore (133), Steve Wilson (165), Nick Purdue (174), Ryan Garringer (184), Schuth (197) and Jeremy Johnson (285) recorded victories over the Wolfpack, with Schuth posting another pin in just one minute, eight seconds.
The Bobcats will be back in action against league foe Buffalo Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.
