Ohio-NIU Results

DEKALB, Ill.-Gabe Ramos and Erik Schuth posted pins at 125 and 197 pounds, respectively, to power the Ohio wrestling team to a 30-11 win at Northern Illinois on Friday.

Ohio improved to 4-3 overall.                     

The Huskies picked up the first win when Israel Montemayor picked up a 10-1 major decision at 133, but Germane Lindsey (16-7 major decision) and Darrin Boing (5-3 decision) took the 141 and 149 bouts.

NIU's Bryan Deutsch captured the win at 157 (10-2 major decision), but Ohio's Steve Wilson (7-5 decision) and Nick Purdue (22-7 technical fall-7:00) snared wins at 165 and 174.

The Huskies' Brad Dieckhaus won 8-1 at 184, but Schuth pinned NIU's Mike Lukowski in 1:42 and teammate Jeremy Johnson posted a 6-3 win at 285. Ramos finished off the scoring with a pin of NIU's Zach Taylor in 2:53 at 125 pounds.

The Bobcats will be back in action Sunday, January 22nd when they travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on NC State at 4 p.m. ET and Campbell at 5:30 p.m.
