Final Stats

COLUMBIA, S.C.-Bucknell's Megan DeGennaro scored with a ball to the far post in the 73rd minute as the Bison downed Ohio 1-0 Friday evening at the Gamecock Courtyard Cup.

The Bobcats outshot Bucknell 16-13, while each team made seven saves.

Ohio midfielder Cathryn Rogers (Toronto, Ohio) had a team-best two shots on goal, while defender Rachael Philpot (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the way with three shots. Bobcat goalie Mattie Liston (Lakewood, Ohio) saved seven shots.

Bucknell forward Christa Matlack had a team-high four shots, including three on goal, for the victors.

The Bobcats' Sarah Brown (North Royalton, Ohio) had a chance to tie the match with 33 seconds left, but her shot was saved by Bison goalie Colleen Garrehy, who made six saves on the evening.

"It was a fairly wide-open game and we definitely had the run of play for the most part," said Ohio head coach Stacy Strauss. "I was really happy with the way we pressed forward tonight, and particularly with the effort of Sarah Brown and Sara Seitz (Englewood, Ohio)."

The Bobcats will next face host South Carolina, ranked 13th nationally, at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. The Gamecocks faced Louisville later Friday evening.
