Ohio found itself in a 9-0 hole when it plated its first two runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Maddox scored Eldemire, who went to third on the previous play, with a sacrifice fly to center for the second run.

The Bobcats tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh when catcher Kris McDonough’s bases-loaded ground ball scored Yakubik.

The big inning for the Falcons came in the top of the ninth when they sent 12 men across the plate to take a commanding lead.

Ohio’s last two runs scored when Maddox laced a single to center, scoring pinch runner Doug Holmes and pinch hitter Kory Burkhart drove in pinch runner Matt Keller with another single to center.

BGSU left six men on base, while Ohio stranded 12.

Saturday’s game, originally scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, has been moved up to 1 p.m. due to inclement weather in the forecast later in the afternoon.
