ATHENS, Ohio - The 2010 season came to a close this afternoon for Ohio Field Hockey in a 3-0 MAC Semifinal loss to Miami in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Despite advancing to the final four of the tournament for the 13th year in a row, the Bobcat magic ran out.

Ohio had the first three shots of the game against Miami goalkeeper Sarah Mueller before a green card helped put the RedHawks on attack. Kelsey Lund's fifth goal of the season gave MU a 1-0 lead right before the 22-minute mark of the first half.

After the goal, the two teams traded off on shots with Louzeth Schutte, Cathryn Altdoerffer and Katherine Fenzel attempting to even the contest for Ohio.

To start the second half, Ohio earned two penalty-corner opportunities and Schutte, Altdoerffer and Taylor Brown all tried their luck at tying the game. However, nothing found the back of the cage and Miami countered, scoring on their first try of the half. Mary Hull's 14th goal of the season gave Miami a 2-0 lead in the 43rd minute.

Ohio earned two more penalty corners before a yellow card was issued to Ohio. Kylie Landeros took advantage and scored her fourth goal of the year for a 3-0 RedHawk lead with eight minutes remaining.

Ohio out-shot Miami for the game, 13-7, but could not capitalize on their chances. The teams were nearly even in the shots-on-goal department with the RedHawks finishing with six and the Bobcats ending the contest with five. The Green & White also held a commanding edge in penalty corners at 10-3.

Schutte led the Ohio attack with five shots and two on goal. Brown and Altdoerffer finished with two shots apiece with Fenzel, Jessica Jue, Brooke Edwards and Laura Mastro each registering a shot for the Green & White.

In her final collegiate game, Courtney Seiders finished with three saves and ended her career with 21 wins in two seasons with the Bobcats.

Ohio had knocked Miami out of the MAC Tournament three years in a row, including the 2007 and 2009 MAC Championship contests.
