PEORIA, Ill. - Senior Lindsay Bergman shot a six-over 78 on Sunday to put the finishing touches on the best individual finish of her career and lead the Ohio University women's golf team to an eighth-place showing at the Bradley Invitational with a team total of 653 (+77).
Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) signed her card on Sunday with a 36-hole score of 154 (+10) to earn sole possession of fourth place, just five strokes off the pace. The performance marked the best individual effort of her career, besting a tie for eight place at the 2008 Lady Herd Fall Classic.
Sophomore Erin Cahill (Hilliard, Ohio) shot 86 (+14) on Sunday to finish in a tie for 27th place with a tally of 165 (+21), while junior Megan Curran (Dublin, Ohio) carded a final-round 83 (+11) to wrap up the tournament with a score of 167 (+23) and a 36th-place tie. Sophomore Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) bettered her first-round score by nine strokes on Sunday, finishing up with an 81 (+9) to tie for 55th place with a mark of 171 (+27), while freshman Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio) and junior Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) each tied for 64th with totals of 176 (+32).
The final round of the Bradley Invitational, originally scheduled for Monday, has been cancelled due to a forecast that calls for freezing temperatures and snow in the Peoria area. The Bobcats will return to action next weekend, when they take part in Eastern Kentucky's Lady Colonel Classic.
