Women's Golf Stands Sixth After First Day Of Zippy Invitational

Results through round two

The Ohio University women’s golf team carded a team total of 653 (+77) on Monday to finish the first day of the Zippy Invitational in sixth place.

Senior Lindsay Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) led the way with a 14-over 158 after firing an opening-round 78, wrapping up the day in a tie for 13th place. She will head into tomorrow’s final round with a shot at her first top-20 finish of the season, having finished last week’s Cardinal Classic with a share of 21st place.

Junior Lauren Bergman (Blacklick, Ohio) entered the clubhouse tied for 28th with a total of 164 (+20), while sophomore Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) finished the day just one stroke behind with a 21-over 165, good for 31st place. Junior Colleen Lienesch (Centerville, Ohio) will begin day two of the tournament in a tie for 43rd after shooting a 25-over 169, and freshman Megan Weaver (Canton, Ohio) rounded out the Bobcats’ lineup in 47th place with a total of 171 (+27).

The final round of the Zippy Invitational will commence tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET.
