Bobcats Clash With Zips: Ohio enters Thursday's contest riding high after knocking off arch-rival Miami 72-63 Saturday in the Convo. The Zips picked up a 76-68 win at Buffalo that same day to move to 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference.
OHIO vs. AKRON
Series History: Ohio leads the all-time series between the two schools with a 29-25 mark. However, Akron has won the last four meetings between the two schools at Rhodes Arena. Scouting Akron: The Zips will bring a 12-3 record into the contest. They are led by 6-6 senior forward Jeremiah Wood. Wood averages a team-high 15.0 points and 8.8 rebounds. 6-1 senior guard Nick Dials is the leading assist man on the team at 3.9 per game, while the Zips shoot 38.0 percent from 3-point range overall. As a team, Akron averages 75.0 points per game on offense and 64.3 points defensively.

Ohio's Tim O'Shea: O'Shea is in his seventh year on the sidelines at Ohio. He has compiled a record of 110-87 (.558) in Athens, which is also his career record. His win against Louisiana-Lafayette moved him past Danny Nee into fi fth place on Ohio's career wins list. Akron's Keith Dambrot: Dambrot is in his fourth season with the Zips but his 10th overall as a head coach. He holds an 80-30 mark at Akron (.727) and a 188-100 record (.653) over the course of his career.
