ATHENS, Ohio - The 10th-ranked Ohio field hockey team captured its home opener Tuesday night with a 6-0 shutout win over Robert Morris. The Bobcats improve to 3-1 on the season while the Colonials fall to 0-4.

Senior Torrie Albini (Escondido, Calif.) led Ohio's offense with a career-high four goals, all of which came in the second half. Albini also led the team with 15 shots.

"This game was really mental for us," said Albini. "The first half was kind of disappointing because we didn't put away as many opportunities as we could have. In the second half we found a way out and really picked it up."

Sophomore Marcy Dull (Ephrata, Pa.) and junior Estienne Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa) also scored goals for the Bobcats. Dull scored Ohio's first goal at the 27:14 mark and Coetzee closed out the first half with a goal at 34:40. Dull also had three shots while Coetzee added one.

Ohio out-cornered Robert Morris in the game 21-3 and out-shot the Colonials by an astounding 33-2 margin. Most notably, the Bobcats got off 20 shots to the Colonials' zero in the first half.

"We dominated the first half," said Head Coach Neil Macmillan. "But I think that with the amount of play that we had, we should have been leading by a much larger margin at the half. I have to give credit to Robert Morris because they played us tough. Their goalkeeper had 15 saves, her performance was great."

Junior Lauren Stahlhuth (St. Louis, Mo.) and MAC Defensive Player of the Week Nikki Gnozzio (Flanders, N.J.) picked up assists for the Bobcats. Junior Rachelle Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa) totaled six shots and sophomore Katelyn Shelley (Ephrata, Pa.) finished with two shots.

The Bobcats will play back-to-back road games this weekend, starting at Holy Cross on Friday at 4 p.m. The `Cats then head to New York to face Albany on Sunday at 1 p.m.
