MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ohio men's golf team shot 36 holes Monday at Ball State to complete the first two rounds of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.
Through two rounds on the first day of the 17-team tournament, held at Delaware Country Club, the Bobcat men compiled a team score of 586 to tie for ninth with Dayton and George Washington.
Sophomore Stewart Jamieson (Worthington, Ohio), who is competing in just his second tournament at the collegiate level, paced the Bobcat effort on Monday. He recorded a one-over 141 on the Par 70 course through 36 holes, including a 66 in the second round, and is tied for ninth among 90 players in the event. Warmbein's best score on Monday was a 74 in the first round while Phillips was an even 70 in the second round, which matched his career-best score, previously recorded at the Kauai Collegiate Cup this past March.
Freshman Mark Reinhold (Cincinnati, Ohio) was 10-over on Monday with a 150 after single round scores of 74 and 76, respectively. Sophomore Tim Gusweiler (Loveland, Ohio) rounded out Ohio's card with a 152, which included identical rounds of 76.
