KENT, Ohio - Bobcat goalie Jessie Martin made a career-high 11 saves in No. 11 Ohio's 1-0 loss to conference foe Kent State on Sunday. Martin (Louisville, Ky.) made five saves in the first half and six in the second half.

"Jessie kept us in the game and really made some key saves," said Head Coach Neil Macmillan. "Kent State did a good job and without Jessie there definitely would have been a few more plays on their part."

Both teams were scoreless until Kent State's Allison Kittelberger scored the game-winner with almost four minutes left in the game. The Golden Flashes (9-4, 4-1 MAC) out-shot and out-cornered the Bobcats (10-4, 4-1 MAC) 12-5 and 8-6, respectively.

Torrie Albini (Escondido, Calif.) and Rachelle Coetzee (Bloemfontein, South Africa) had two shots apiece, while Lindsay Schwartz (Littz, Pa.) had one shot in the game.

"You have to give credit to Kent State because they stopped us from having any good attacks and limited us to just five shots," said Macmillan. "We didn't play our style of hockey for the full time today. We had a great start to the game, especially in the first 20 minutes, but didn't capitalize on any open opportunities."

The Bobcats will play their next four games at home. The `Cats will kick off the homestand against Ball State on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. followed by a match-up with Miami on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.
