Oxford, Ohio - The Ohio women's basketball team will continue the 2007 MAC season when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to face East Division foe Miami on Saturday, January 6 at 2 p.m.

Previewing Miami

Boosted by a strong final 20 minutes that included 18 second-half points and seven rebounds from junior Amanda Jackson, the Miami University women's basketball team (7-7; 1-0 MAC) turned a six-point halftime deficit into a 13-point victory as it downed the University at Buffalo Bulls (5-8; 0-1 MAC), 72-59, Wednesday night at Alumni Arena. Jackson posted her third career double-double, finishing with a team-high 21 points and 10 rebounds, as the RedHawks won their Mid-American Conference opener for the fifth time in six years.

In addition to Jackson's second straight 20-point effort, freshman Courtney Reed provided a huge lift off the bench, scoring a career-high 16 points while playing a season-high 23 minutes. With junior Sarah Hull held out of the game because of an injury, Reed was the first guard off the Miami bench, scoring 10 points in the first half and playing crucial second-half minutes after sophomore Jenna Schone picked up her fourth foul with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Sophomore Eve Pyle also scored in double figures, notching 11 points, while Schone and junior Laura Markwood added nine points each.

The win upped Miami's lead in all-time series with Buffalo to 8-6 and gave the RedHawks their first win at Alumni Arena since 2004. Miami also avenged a pair of losses to Buffalo last season in which the Bulls defeated the RedHawks by a combined four points.
