ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio wrestling team held its annual Green vs. White Intra-squad Scrimmage Saturday, the final weekend before the Bobcats begin regular season action.

"It's kind of tough to wrestle yourselves," Head Coach Joel Greenlee said. "I thought we needed to be a little more aggressive and need to work on the new rules starting on top, but I thought we wrestled pretty well. I thought (Ryan) Knapp and Marcus (Adelman) looked real good and obviously Caleb (Metcalf) looked real good."

Junior Caleb Metcalf (Waterville, Ohio) got things off to a nice start for the green squad in the opening match of the scrimmage. Metcalf pinned Mike Wilson in 2:37 in the 125-pound weight class.

Senior Matt Smith (Sandyville, W.Va.) followed that up with a 3-1 win at 133 pounds for the white squad. Smith and freshman Quentin Keyes (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) wrestled to a stalemate for much of the match until Smith earned two points on a reverse to pull out the win.

Freshman Clay Tucker (Martins Ferry, Ohio) got the green squad back in the win column at 149 pounds with a 19-5 major decision win. White squad freshman Jacob Ison (Batavia, Ohio) followed with a major decision win of his own as he earned an 11-2 win at 157 pounds.

Junior Ryan Knapp (McConnelsville, Ohio) followed with another win for the green squad, a 4-1 decision at 165 pounds. Junior transfer Antione Love (Gahanna, Ohio) gave the white squad a win at 174 pounds with an 8-2 victory via injury default.

At 184 pounds, senior Nick Terbay (Dayton, Ohio) earned a 5-1 decision with a pair of takedowns in the match. Sophomore Larry Reichard (New Albany, Ohio) followed that with a 4-1 decision at 197 pounds before senior Marcus Adelman (Alliance, Ohio) finished off the day with a 10-1 major decision in the heavyweight division.

Greenlee and the Bobcats will kick off the regular season next Sunday, Nov. 12, when they travel to East Lansing, Mich. for the Michigan State Open.

"We're ready to wrestle somebody besides ourselves," Greenlee said. "We look like we are in good shape and we look like we know what we are doing."
