Final Stats

DeKALB, Ill. - Lynn Bria moved into second place on the Ohio all-time wins list Saturday as her Bobcats snatched a 74-62 victory over Northern Illinois in DeKalb.

Sophomore Lauren Revesz (Bridgeville, Pa.) scored a career-high 26 points in just 23 minutes, kicking in five boards, two assists and four steals. Revesz was 8-of-11 from the floor, 2-for-2 from the three-point line and 8-of-8 from the stripe.

Revesz was one of four Bobcats to tally double figures, as Quintana Ward (Park Forest, Ill.) hit for 15, Ciara Iglehart (Mission Viejo, Calif.) scored 14 and Domenica Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) registered 10 points.

Ohio (7-11, 4-3 Mid-American Conference) led by four at the break and took over down the stretch to pull out the victory. The Bobcats led by a bucket, 60-58, at the 3:46 mark in the second half. From there on, though, Ohio converted 12-of-14 free-throw attempts and allowed just two more Huskie points--a pair of free throws with little more than a minute left.

The win marked No. 75 at Ohio for Bria, vaulting her past Amy Prichard and into second place all-time. Bria now trails only Marsha Reall in the program's all-time head coaching wins list. Reall won 122 games in nine seasons with the Cats from 1990-99.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle, with the Bobcats eventually coming out on top. The lead changed hands 16 times in the frame.

After trailing by a point with 3:26 left, the Bobcats used a three-pointer and a jumper from Ward and a free throw from Iglehart to pull out in front, 34-30 at intermission.

It was a lead that would grow to 12 by the final gun and an advantage that Ohio would never let out of its grasp.

Revesz led all scorers with 11 at the break, while Ward had nine and Rachel Frederick (Gibsonia, Pa.) pulled down four boards. The Cats shot 48.1 percent from the field in the first half and connected on 4-of-9 three-point attempts. Ohio went to the line just six times in the half, hitting four of those tries.

Kristin Wiener and Jessie Wilcox led the Huskies with seven points each at the half. Northern Illinois (7-11, 3-4 MAC) hit 54.5 percent of its tries from the floor in the first half and knocked down 2-of-6 three-point attempts.

Northern Illinois hung around for most of the second frame, staying within single digits for more than 19 minutes. The Huskies cut the deficit to two on five different occasions in the half, but every time they did, Ohio had an answer.

The Bobcats got 29 points from their bench Saturday and outscored Northern Illinois 22-14 in the paint. Each team had 34 rebounds on the night. Wiener had a game-high nine boards, while Frederick paced the Cats with seven.

Ohio shot 43.1 percent from the floor, 38.5 percent from the arc and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe on the day. Northern Illinois countered with a 30.6 shooting percentage from the field, a 33.3 mark from the three-point line and 62.5 percent from the foul line.

The Cats will now return to Athens for a televised match-up with Ball State. The Bobcats and Cardinals tip at 8 p.m. Tuesday in The Convo. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Net Ohio.
