GREENSBORO, N.C. - Ohio matched UNC-Greensboro shot-for-shot in the second half, but a 17-point first-half deficit was the difference Saturday, as the Bobcat women's basketball team was defeated 69-52 by UNC-Greensboro in the second day of the UNC-Greensboro Thanksgiving Tournament.

Katie Reihmann (Marengo, Iowa) earned her first start of the season for Ohio (1-4) and responded by posting her second-straight 12-point game. She hit all three of Ohio's three-point goals on the afternoon.

Reihmann was one of three double-digit scorers for the Cats, as Simone Redd (Warrensville Heights, Ohio) chipped in 10 and Ciara Iglehart (Mission Viejo, Calif.) kicked in 11 off the bench.

The Bobcats started off slow on the offensive end and the Spartans (1-2) took advantage. Ohio shot 30.4 percent (7-23) in the first half and came up empty from behind the arc, falling behind 34-17 at the break. UNC-Greensboro was more productive on the offensive end, hitting 40 percent (14-35) from the floor and 83.3 percent (5-6) from the charity stripe. Redd led seven Bobcat scorers with four points at the half.

Out of the locker room, Ohio heated up on the offensive end, but the effort wasn't enough to get the Bobcats out of the hole it built in the first frame. Reihmann and sophomore Lauren Revesz (Bridgeville, Pa.) each scored nine points in the second half, and as a team the Bobcats shot 35.5 percent (11-31) from the floor and 42.9 percent (3-7) from behind the arc.

UNC-Greensboro hit just eight field goals--one three-pointer--in the second half, but the Spartans made up the difference at the foul line. UNC-Greensboro hit 18 free-throws in the second half (72 percent), including a six-for-six second-half effort from Kemena Brooks. Scoring in the second half was tied, 35-35.

For the game, the Spartans edged the Bobcats in rebounds--44-37--and outscored Ohio 28-16 in the paint. UNC-Greensboro got 41 points from its bench, including 21 combined from Brooks and KaLeah Latham. Brittany Frazier led the Spartans with a game-high 14 points and seven boards.

Ohio will return to Athens for its next non-conference match-up. The Bobcats will meet Western Illinois at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 3. The women's game is the first of an Ohio basketball doubleheader, with the Bobcat men's squad slated to tip-off with American at 4 p.m. in The Convo.
