For the game, Jackson connected for 11 points.

Mercyhurst, coached by former Bobcat assistant Gary Manchel, hung around early in the contest but after pulling to within one point at 19-18, Ohio went on a 13-0 run to make it 32-18 with 9:39 remaining in the first half.

The Bobcat lead never went below nine points the rest of the opening period and after Mercyhurst closed the gap to 12 early in the second half, Ohio used a 12-0 run to push its lead to 69-45 with 13:37 to play.

Ohio increased its lead to two more before the final buzzer sounded on the first and only exhibition game for the Bobcats.

Ohio out-rebounded the Lakers 31-29. The Bobcats received 35 points from their bench, compared to 10 by the Mercyhurst reserves.

Mychal Green (Columbus, Ohio), a senior guard who led the Bobcats in scoring last year with a 15.0 average, missed the exhibition with tendonitis in his knee. Freshman forward Jerome Tillman (Beavercreek, Ohio) is currently out three to six weeks with a case of mononucleosis.

Ohio will now go on a two-week hiatus before beginning the regular season slate in Athens. The Bobcats are set to meet St. Francis on Saturday, November 26. Tip-time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
