STORRS, Conn. ? After leading 19-6 with less than five minutes remaining in the third quarter at Memorial Stadium, the Ohio football team allowed 31 unanswered points as the Bobcats fell to Connecticut 37-19 on Saturday.

Connecticut quarterback Dan Orlovsky's one-yard run with 14:05 remaining in the game gave the Huskies a 20-19 advantage and then Terry Caulley scored on a four-yard run at the 11:23 mark following an interception thrown by Dontrell Jackson, the Bobcats' first turnover on the day.

Following a second interception, Marc Hickok nailed a 47-yard field goal with 3:32 left in the game and then Caulley scored again on a 27-yard run with 1:36 remaining to provide the final score.

Two third-quarter field goals by Kevin Kerr extended Ohio's lead to 19-6 before a 26-yard touchdown pass from Orlovsky to Jason Williams produced a score for the Huskies with 4:40 left in the third quarter.

Kerr capped off a nine-play, 55 -yard drive with a 32-yard field goal to open the second half. Then the senior from Cincinnati made a 24-yarder with 5:46 remaining in the third quarter.

With a 54-yard touchdown run, his second of the day, Chad Brinker passed the 2,000-yard career rushing mark and gave Ohio a 13-3 lead with 13:40 left in the first half at Memorial Stadium. Kerr missed the extra-point attempt and a 45-yard field goal attempt late in the half as the Bobcats led 13-6 at intermission.

Following a partially blocked punt by Tony Collette, Brinker capped off a seven-play, 36-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run to give Ohio a 7-0 lead with 5:22 remaining in the first quarter.

The Bobcats return to Peden Stadium next Saturday as they will host Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept .28.
