ORLANDO, Fla. (Sports Network) ? Ryan Schneider threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead the UCF Golden Knights to a 42-32 victory over the Ohio Bobcats in Mid-American Conference action on Saturday.

Doug Gabriel was on the receiving end of all four of Schneider?s touchdown passes in the win for the Golden Knights (7-5, 6-2 MAC). The explosive wideout finished with seven catches for 179 yards.

Fred Ray threw for 210 yards and ran for 43 yards in defeat for Ohio (4-8, 4-4). The only points of the first quarter came on a four-yard touchdown pass from Ray to Ray Huston which gave Ohio a 7-0 lead.

UCF took a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter thanks to two touchdown passes from Schneider to Gabriel from 24 and 35 yards out.

After Kevin Kerr hit field goals from 36 and 31 yards to pull Ohio within one point, Schneider hit Gabriel with a 34-yard scoring pass to give the Golden Knights a 21-13 advantage at the intermission.

In the opening seconds of the third quarter, an Eli Kiener sack caused a UCF fumble recovered by Andre Parker in the end zone for a touchdown to cut the Bobcats? deficit to 21-20.

UCF quickly regained its eight-point cushion on a 50-yard touchdown connection between Schneider and Gabriel.

With under four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Ray plunged into the end zone from one yard out for Ohio. The two-point conversion attempt failed, however, making the score 28-26 in favor of the Golden Knights.

Before the third quarter ended, Schneider scored on a one-yard run to put his squad ahead by nine points.

Each team was able to score one touchdown in the fourth quarter. After UCF?s Alex Haynes crossed the goal line on a nine-yard run, Ohio?s Stafford Owens plunged into the end zone from two yards out to close the scoring.
