ATHENS -- Bowling Green controlled the ball for nearly 40 minutes, outgaining the Bobcats 400 to 140 in total offense, during a 17-0 victory at Peden Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats failed to win at home for the first time since 1995 and have not scored in 10 straight quarters, the longest streak since back-to-back shutouts in the 1965 season finale and the 1964 season opener.

Ohio's rushing attack, ranked third in the nation entering play Saturday, tallied just 105 yards on the ground, paced by Jamel Patterson with 35 yards.

Falcon quarterback Josh Harris set a school record for yards by a signal-caller with 148 on 28 carries. He also completed 13-of-21 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.

Bowling Green went up 3-0 after a 14-play, 70-yard drive on its opening possession. Shaun Suisham kicked a 27-yard field goal with 6:53 left in the first quarter to end the march.

The Falcons (6-3, 4-3) extended their lead to 10-0 with 19 seconds left in the first half. Kurt Gerling caught a four-yard pass from Josh Harris to cap a 12-play, 56-yard drive.

The Bobcats (1-8, 1-6) tried to rally in the third quarter, but a pair of drives stalled after nine plays. BGSU sealed the win with an 80-yard drive that consumed 6:20 of the fourth quarter. John Gibson scored from one-yard out with just over six minutes remaining for the final score.
