Shaun Cook joined the Ohio football program as its general manager in March 2026.Â
Â
Cook comes to Ohio by way of Texas A&M, where he served as the Aggies’ assistant director of player personnel from Dec. 2023 through the 2025 season. There, he contributed to multiple top-ranked high school and transfer portal classes, evaluating and prioritizing both high school and portal prospects. Cook primarily supported the defense’s recruiting efforts, directing all scouting and recruiting operations.Â

Prior to Texas A&M, Cook spent Jan. 2022 – Dec. 2023 at Duke as the assistant director of scouting. There, he oversaw all offensive scouting and recruiting operations, conducting nationwide identification and evaluation of prospects.

Previously, Cook served as the assistant director of player personnel at UConn for the 2021 season following a brief stint as a scout and content creator for The 33rd Team.  From Aug. 2020 – Jan. 2021, Cook worked in the NFL in GSIS support and statistics quality assurance, verifying live play-by-play data to ensure statistical accuracy and compliance. Cook spent the 2019 season in Nashville, Tenn., working at Vanderbilt as a football personnel and recruiting assistant. From Feb. 2016 – Aug. 2019, Cook was a football personnel and recruiting assistant for the Tennessee Vols.Â

A Nashville native, Cook graduated from Tennessee with a degree in recreation and sport management. He and his wife, Anna, recently welcomed a daughter, Violet.Â
