Will Fife was named Director of Equipment in December of 2022. In his current role, he oversees equipment services for all sports that utilize the Peden equipment room, including football, swimming and diving, track and field and cross country.  

Prior to Ohio, Fife served as the Assistant Athletic Equipment Manager and later the Interim Head Football Equipment Manager at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. There, he worked directly with football and women’s lacrosse programs from August 2021-22. When he stepped into the interim role in August 2022, Fife was solely responsible for ordering, receiving, inventorying, fitting, maintaining, laundering, packing, and unpacking all football equipment and apparel.  

Prior to Old Dominion, Fife worked for Ohio football from 2017-20. Upon graduation, he served as a football operations assistant, serving as a liaison between all sectors of the football program. In that role, Fife was integral to the student-athlete experience, assisting with weekly itineraries, coordinating meals and arranging travel plans.  

From August 2018 – May 2020, Fife was the Peden equipment room’s graduate assistant, overseeing all equipment student managers and interns. He worked directly with multiple programs, including football, field hockey, track, cross country, swimming and diving. Fife was already familiar with the inner workings of the equipment room, having served as the equipment and apparel intern from August 2017 – May 2018.  

A two-time Bobcat, Fife earned a Master of Science in Recreation and Sport Sciences from the Patton College of Education in May 2020 after graduating with a bachelor’s degrees in sport management and sport business administration in 2018. He also enrolled in the Athletic Equipment Managers Association, earning the Certified Athletic Equipment Manager title in July 2021. 

A Hillsboro, Ohio native, Fife currently resides in Athens.
