Matthias Reiber joined the Ohio University sports medicine staff in summer of 2021. He serves as the head athletic trainer for the Ohio bobcats football team.
Reiber joins the Bobcats from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as an assistant athletic trainer with football. At UAB, Reiber coordinated daily operations of rehabilitation in the training room and supervised the intern program.Â
Before UAB, Reiber was an associate athletic trainer for football, and men's and women’s tennis at Eastern Kentucky University.Â
Reiber earned his graduate degree in education and sports administration from Bowling Green State University in May of 2016, while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with football and track & field.Â
Reiber received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Kansas in May 2014. While at Kansas, he worked with the Jayhawks football team for three semesters, including the entire 2013-14 year. Prior to that he worked with the KU track & field and cross-country teams, women’s soccer, as well as off campus with the Lawrence High School athletic programs.
