Mary Huffman was named assistant coach of Ohio field hockey in June 2026
Prior to joining the Bobcats as a coach, Huffman spent time as a NEXUS coach and spent six years a coach for the Fer De Lance Field Hockey Club, including spending summer of 2025 as an operations intern. While with Fer De Lance, Huffman raveled to tournaments such as Disney/Sunshine Showcase, Bash at the Beach, Shooting Star Thanksgiving, and Regional Tournaments. During her stint as an operation intern, Huffman gained experience by directing field hockey programming as a Club Supervisor, overseeing practice sessions, staff scheduling, facility management and smooth day-to-day operations.
Huffman also spend three summers as a coach at All-American and Ohio field hockey camps, where she designed and led independent skills clinics for high schools while focusing on technical development, field vision, positioning and competitive decision-making.
Huffman is a 2026 graduate of Ohio University where she was a member of the field hockey program for four years. During her time, Huffman played in 26 games, scored one goal and had a career .556 shots on goal percentage.Â
