Ohio Swim and Dive Selected Second in 2026-27 MAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team was selected to finish second in the 2026-27 Mid-American Conference Coaches Preseason Poll, as voted by the league's nine head coaches, the conference announced today (Sept. 30). Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
Akron earned the most votes with 64 team points, with eight of nine first-place votes. Ohio was next, earning 57 points and one first place vote. Behind the Bobcats in third was Miami with 50 points, while Ball State (42 points) and Buffalo (36 points) rounded out the top five.Â
Eastern Michigan came in sixth with 28 points, while UMass (20 points), Bowling Green (15 points) and Toledo (12 points) finished out this year's poll.Â
Bowling Green will host the 2026-27 MAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championship Feb. 24-27 at Cooper Pool in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Ohio finished last season with a second-place team finish at the MAC Championship in Akron, while seeing Zita Szoke and Casadie DiBetta punch their tickets to the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.Â
The Bobcats return five seniors from last year's team including Szoke, along with Isabella Arbaugh, Katie Buroker, Astrid Pichardo and Melanie Schweikert. The Bobcats also added seven freshmen to the roster for this season.
Ohio opens the 2026-27 season this weekend when they head to Coral Gables, Fla. Oct. 2-3 to face off with Miami and North Florida in a tri-meet. Friday's events are set to begin at 3 p.m. ET, with Saturday schedules to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
