Ohio Field Hockey Announces Schedule for 75th Anniversary Season

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team has announced its 2026 schedule, head coach Ali Johnstone announced today (June 18). The schedule for the 75th year of Ohio Field Hockey includes two scrimmages, 11 home games, eight road games and one neutral site matchup.Â
The preseason begins on Tuesday, Aug. 14 with Ohio hosts Ohio State for its first scrimmage of the season. First touch is set for 3 p.m. ET at Pruitt Field. Ohio then hosts Kent State for one more tune-up before the start of the season on Friday, Aug. 21.Â
The regular season begins on Friday, Aug. 28 against Michigan State. First touch is set for 1 p.m. ET at Pruitt Field. Ohio will host both St. Louis and Michigan State for a neutral site matchup on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m., before concluding the first weekend of action on Sunday, Aug. 30 when the Bobcats take on St. Louis at 1 p.m. ET.Â
Ohio then heads to Charlotte, N.C. on Friday, Sept. 4 to face off with Queens at 5 p.m. ET, before heading to Wake Forest on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Noon ET.Â
Ohio returns to Athens Sept. 11-13 for their Alumni Weekend, celebrating 75 years of Ohio Field Hockey. On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Ohio squad will take on Ohio alumni at Pruitt Field. Ohio then is back in action on Sunday, Sept. 13 when they take on Davidson at 12 p.m. ET.Â
Ohio then heads to Amherst, Mass. on Friday, Sept. 18 to open MAC play against UMass at 11 a.m. ET, before returning to Athens on Friday, Sept. 25 to take on App State. Later in the weekend, Ohio heads to Louisville, Ky. to take on Bellarmine.Â
Ohio is back in Athens for back-to-back games starting on Friday, Oct. 2 against Central Michigan at 3 p.m. ET, before wrapping up the week on Sunday, Oct. 4 against Mercyhurst at Noon ET at Pruitt Field.Â
Ohio heads to Oxford, Ohio on Friday, Oct. 9 for the 'Battle of the Bricks', before heading to Bloomington, Ind. on Sunday, Oct. 11 to take on Big Ten opponent Indiana. The Bobcats return to Pruitt Field on Friday, Oct. 16 when they host James Madison at 2 p.m. ET, before heading to Farmville, Va. on Sunday, Oct. 18 to take on Longwood.Â
Ohio then heads to Muncie, Ind. Oct. 23-24 where they will take on Ball State and then Queens in a neutral site matchup, before closing out the 2026 regular season on Friday, Oct. 30 at home against Kent State.Â
The 2026 Mid-American Conference Tournament will take place Nov. 4-7 in Oxford, Ohio where Miami will serve as this year's host site.Â
