MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ohio baseball team (5-20, 3-7 MAC) fell 10-0 in seven innings to Ball State (13-11, 8-2 MAC) in the first game of its series on Friday (Mar. 27).
On the mound, sophomore
Luke Bryant (Ashland, Ohio) pitched 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits with one strikeout. Freshman
Evan Lichtenauer (Newark, Ohio) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing four runs on six hits.
After a scoreless first two innings, Ball State struck first with one run in the bottom of the third. The Cardinals extended their lead in the fourth, scoring four runs on five hits for a 5-0 lead heading into the fifth.
Ball State went on to score five additional runs on eight hits, ultimately winning 10-0 in seven innings.
Up next, Ohio will play game two of its series against Ball State tomorrow, March 28. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
