BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Ohio baseball team (5-19, 3-6 MAC) wrapped up its series with Bowling Green (6-14, 3-6 MAC) on Sunday, March 22. After entering the day tied 1-1 in the weekend series, Ohio got the win, defeating Bowling Green 7-3.
On the mound, junior AJ Dallmayer (Washington Court House, Ohio) got the start, with three innings pitched, allowing two runs on three hits, walked four and struck out five. Freshman Gaige Stuckey (Washington Court House, Ohio) pitched the next 1.2 innings, allowing only one hit and struck out two. Junior Ethan Stewart (Langsville, Ohio) got the win, allowing no runs and one hit. Senior Landon Price (Middle Point, Ohio) got the save, pitched the final three innings, allowing no runs and four hits with two strikeouts.
At the plate, senior Cam Hill (Chicago, Ill) went 4-for-5 with two runs scored. Senior Dylan Shephard (Barrie, Ontario) went 2-for-5 at the plate, recording two RBI and one run scored. Junior Cameron Boyd (Villa Hills, Ky.) and fifth-year Will Henson (Chicago, Ill.) each finished with two hits and one run scored, including an RBI from Boyd. Junior Taylor Harris (Parrish, Fla.) went one-for-three with two RBI.
After a scoreless first two innings, Bowling Green struck first, scoring two runs on two hits. The Falcons added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth for a 3-0 advantage after five.
The Bobcats answered in the top of the sixth, starting with a one-RBI single to center by Shephard. After loading the bases, a pair of one-RBI singles and a groundout added three runs. Harris capped the inning with a two-RBI double to left, giving Ohio a 6-3 lead.
Shepherd's strong performance continued, hitting his second RBI of the game in the top of the seventh to extend Ohio's lead, 7-3.
Up next, the Bobcats will travel to Ball State for a three-game series with the Cardinals starting on Friday, March 27.
