
Ohio Swim and Dive Sits in Third After Day One at MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – The Ohio swim and dive team opened competition at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships Wednesday evening (Feb. 25) at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of Akron. The Bobcats finished day one in third place with 62 points.
Akron leads the competition after day one with 80 points, followed by Buffalo with 64.
The night began with the 200-yard medley relay, where the Ohio team of freshman Lily Baumgartner (Ada, Ohio), senior Casadie DiBetta (St. Clairsville, Ohio), sophomore Jordan Claypoole (Parkersburg, W. Va.) and senior Zita Szoke (Serbia, Becej) placed third with a time of 1:37.61, being edged out by second-place finisher Ball State by .03 seconds.
In the final event of the evening, the 800 free relay, the Ohio team of freshman Katrina Kollin (Dublin, Ohio), sophomore Ashlyn Morr (Galena, Ohio), senior Anna McGrath (Lewis Center, Ohio) and freshman Juliette Daigneault (Scottsdale, Ariz.) placed fourth with a time of 7:16.83.
Up next, the Bobcats are back in action for second day of the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships on Thursday, Feb. 26. Prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m. ET, with finals scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET. Both sessions can be seen on ESPN+.
