FARMVILLE, Va – The Ohio field hockey team (7-7, 4-3 MAC) earned 3-1 road win over conference opponent, Longwood (0-13, 0-7 MAC), on Sunday, Oct. 18. Â

Junior back Ava Hershberger (Harrison City, Pa) had a shot on goal and an assist. Â
In goal, junior Molly Schreiner (State College, Pa) allowed one goal in 60 minutes of action. Â
The Bobcats attack was working early, getting two early penalty corners and shots on goal, but they weren't able to get on the board with a goal.Â
The rest of the period was a defensive battle, and both teams were held scoreless in the first, heading into the second period tied at 0-0.Â
It was more of the same in the second period, with Ohio getting multiple penalty corners while applying pressure on the Longwood defense with shots on goal, but with none resulting in a goal.Â
Both teams went into the half tied at 0-0. Â
The Lancers got on the board first, scoring the game's first goal just after five minutes had passed in the third period to take a 1-0 lead. Â
That lead held for the rest of the period, and the Bobcats went into the final frame needing some goals, and those goals came quick in the fourth period with Cisney tying the game with a goal off a penalty corner just minutes into the period.Â
Florence would then give Ohio back-to-back goals, breaking the tie and giving Ohio a two-goal advantage.Â
Those two goals would be the difference for the Bobcats in the fourth period, boosting them to a 3-1 road victory.Â
Up next, the Bobcats are set to play two games in Muncie, Ind. Ohio will kick off the weekend against Ball State on Friday, Oct. 23. First touch is set for 12 p.m. ET the game can be seen on ESPN+. Â
