
Ohio Women’s Track & Field Experiences Success on Day 1 of the Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded the first day of competition of the Meyo Invitational on Friday, Jan. 30.
Ohio kicked off the meet with the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles. Freshman Zoey Caldwell qualified for the semi-finals with a time of 9.09 and placed 10th overall.
Freshman Alyvia Mentlow raced in the qualifying round of the women's 60m. Mentlow qualified for the semi-finals with a personal-best time of 7.77 and placed eighth overall. Mentlow also placed sixth in the women's 200m with a time of 25.10.
The women's distance medley relay team, comprised of senior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio), sophomore Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.), junior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and sophomore Jaclyn Garvey (Grand Blanc, Mich.), placed seventh overall with a season-best time of 11:28.67. The time is also the second fastest in program history.
Two Bobcats finished in the top 20 of the women's 5,000 meters. Graduate student Theresa Hagey (Akron, Ohio) placed 16th with a time of 17:03.71. Senior Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) followed behind Hagey in 19th place with a time of 17:09.78.
The Bobcats will be back in action for day two of the Meyo Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 31.
