CLEVELAND, OHIO – Senior
Anna McGrath was named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week for her performance during the week of Jan. 12, the league announced this afternoon (Jan. 20).
McGrath (Lewis Center, Ohio) earned Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time in her career for her efforts in Ohio's Dual Meet against Bowling Green State University, Friday, January 16, where the Bobcats defeated the Falcons 244-56. Individually, McGrath competed in the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle and was a member of a 200-yard freestyle relay team. In the 500-yard freestyle, McGrath finished in first place with a time of 4:57.07, and in the 200-yard freestyle she finished in second place with a time of 1:50.81. The 200-yard freestyle relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 1:47.67. McGrath has shaved off almost two seconds in each of her individual events.
McGrath and the rest of the Bobcats return to the pool next weekend (Jan. 30-31
st) in Akron, Ohio, to take on MAC opponent Akron at 5 p.m. and can be watched on the Zips Digital Network.
