CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio men's basketball senior guard
Jackson Paveletzke has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for his performance the week of Jan. 5, the league announced this afternoon (Jan. 12).
Paveletzke (Kimberly, Wis.) once again led the Ohio men's basketball team on the court, helping the Bobcats to a 2-0 week and a 9-1 record their last 10 games. Overall, Paveletzke averaged 16.5 points per game, while recording 5.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from three, and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe, while also averaging 1.0 steals per game.
On Jan. 6 against UMass, Paveletzke was a pivotal facilitator on the court, scoring 10 points and dishing out 10 assists for his first double-double of the season in the 86-68 victory. He also grabbed four rebounds and had one steal, while going 5-of-6 from the line in the win. Paveletzke was then back in action on Saturday against Buffalo, finishing the game with 23 points, six rebounds, and eight assists to help hand the Bulls their first MAC loss of the season. He finished the game shooting 8-of-12 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line, while playing 38 minutes in the 91-80 win.
Paveletzke and the rest of Ohio men's basketball are back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 13 when Ohio heads to Toledo, Ohio to take on the Toledo Rockets. Tip-off is set fro 7 p.m. ET inside Savage Arena and can be seen on ESPN+.
