CLEVELAND – The Ohio football program's redshirt junior linebacker
Michael Molnar earned Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week accolades following his performance during the Bobcats' 17-10 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers (Sept. 6).
With Molnar (Mason, Ohio) at the helm, Ohio's defense held West Virginia to 2-of-13 successful third-down conversions and forced the Mountaineers to punt eight times in the Bobcats' victory over their Big 12 opponent. Individually, Molnar was among three Bobcats to log a team-best seven total tackles. He led the team with 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, while also recording two solo stops and one quarterback hurry.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, Sept. 13, when they hit the road to take on Ohio State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Ohio Stadium and can be seen on Peacock.
