TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio volleyball team (2-12, 0-2 MAC) fell 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 19-25) at Toledo (11-3, 2-0 MAC) on Friday, Sept. 26.
Ohio finished with 45 kills, five aces, seven blocks, 43 assists and 67 digs. Toledo finished with 46 kills, nine aces, nine blocks, 41 assists and 73 digs.
Junior
Olivia Gardner (Macomb, Mich.) led Ohio's offense with a team-high 12 kills and 12.5 points. Senior
Kendall White (Gahanna, Ohio) tallied a team-high 21 assists.
In addition to recording eight kills and 10.5 points, junior
Emily Waddell (Carmel, Ind.) finished a with a team-high five block assists. Junior
Kendall Hickey (Fishers, Ind.) led the team in digs with a total of 12.
Ohio gained an early 1-0 lead after taking the first set in a 25-22 decision. The Bobcats outperformed in kills, 13-6, and recorded a better attack percentage than the Rockets.
Toledo answered back, taking the second set 25-18. The Rockets took a 2-1 lead after winning the third in a 25-21 decision. Toledo secured the game with a 25-19 win in the fourth set, defeating Ohio by 3-1.
The Bobcats will be back in action when they host Akron on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. ET. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
