CLEVELAND – The Ohio football program's graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro earned the first Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week award of the 2025 season for his performance against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (Aug. 28).Â
Carrying over his streak from the 2024 season, this marks Navarro's fourth consecutive MAC Player of the Week nod, earning recognition following Ohio's match ups against Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Ball State. Additionally, he was named MAC Championship Offensive Player of the Game (Dec. 7).Â
Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.) led the Bobcats' first game of the season against Rutgers, coming within a few points of defeating the Big Ten opponent in Piscataway, N.J. Overall, Navarro went 21-for-31 on 239 yards in the air, finishing the evening with three passing touchdowns to match his career high (Nov. 29, 2024 vs. Ball State). On the ground, Navarro finished with one touchdown on 93 yards, logging the most individual rushing yards between either team.
The Bobcats return to Athens on Saturday, September 6, to host the West Virginia Mountaineers for their home opener. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPNU.
