KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Ohio baseball team (14-37, 9-21 MAC) concluded its season with a 17-4 loss at Western Michigan (19-32, 12-18 MAC) on Saturday, May 17.
Ohio finished with three hits and two errors. Western Michigan finished with 17 hits and two errors.
Western Michigan scored eight unanswered runs throughout the first and second innings.
After getting on base with a double down the left field line, senior
Wes Lug (Huntersville, N.C.) put the Bobcats on the board with a run in the top of the third inning. Redshirt sophomore
Cam Bryant (Miamisburg, Ohio) scored Ohio's second run in the same inning.
Two runs by Ohio in the top of the fourth cut Western Michigan's lead in half. Lug once again scored for Ohio, making the score 8-3 in the Broncos' favor. Bryant reached first on an error and was able score his second run of the game off a single by sophomore
Ben Slanker (Canfield, Ohio).
Ohio was unable to contain Western Michigan's offense. The Broncos went on to win the game 17-4.
