TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio baseball team (6-16, 2-7 MAC) fell 1-0 at Toledo (8-14, 4-5 MAC) on Sunday, March 23.
Ohio finished with no runs, two hits and one error. Toledo finished with one run, seven hits and one error.
Two different Bobcats recorded one hit each. Freshman Matt Ineich (South Lyon, Mich.) went 1-for-4 at the plate, while sophomore JR Nelson (Vernon Hills, Ill) went 1-for-3 at the plate.
Senior Dillon Masters (New Albany, Ohio) started on the mound and pitched 6.1 innings. Masters threw two strikeouts, allowed five hits and one run on 22 at bats. Sophomore Jack Geiser (Medina, Ohio) struck out one batter and allowed two hits in one 1.1 innings pitched.
It was a scoreless game though the first seven and a half innings. Toledo got on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for the only run of the game, ultimately winning, 1-0.
The Bobcats will be back in action at Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, March 25. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. ET and the game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
