ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio volleyball team (13-16, 11-6 MAC) fell 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 18-25, 15-25) to Western Michigan (16-14, 13-4 MAC) on Thursday, Nov. 13.
Ohio finished with a .172 attack percentage, 50 kills, six aces, nine blocks, 49 assists and 63 digs. Western Michigan finished with a .207 attack percentage, 45 kills, four aces, nine blocks, 41 assists and 64 digs.
Senior
Kendall White (Gahanna, Ohio) reached the 2,000 career assists milestone with a team-high 25 assists
Freshman
Bailey Blair (Louisville, Ky.) was Ohio's top offensive player of the game. Blair recorded a .314 attack percentage with a team-high 16 kills on 35 total attacks. The freshman also recorded a team-high 16.0 points along with five digs.
Junior
Gentry Brown (Shadyside, Ohio) finished with another double-double. Brown tallied 12 kills, 12 digs and 15.0 points. Junior
Torre Kildow (Bethesda, Ohio) added 11 kills, 12.0 points, four digs and two blocks.
Junior
Emily Waddell (Carmel, Ind.) led the team in blocking with seven block assists. Junior
Kendall Hickey (Fishers, Ind.) recorded a team-high 13 digs.
Ohio got off to a good start with a dominating 25-11 win in the first set. Western Michigan answered back with a 25-20 win in the second set. After their second set win, the Broncos took control of the game. Western Michigan went on to win the third set, 25-18, and the fourth set, 25-15. The Broncos defeated the Bobcats, 3-1.
The Bobcats will be back in action for their regular season finale and senior day against Western Michigan on Friday, Nov. 14. First serve is set for 6 p.m. ET and the game will be available to on ESPN+.
