CLEVELAND – The Ohio football program's redshirt senior running back
Sieh Bangura earned Mid-American Conference Co-Special Teams Player of the Week accolades following his performance during the Bobcats' 24-20 victory over the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (Nov. 4). He shares the title with Toledo wide receiver Trayvon Rudolph, who took the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in Toledo's 42-3 win over NIU.
Early in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's matchup against the RedHawks, Bangura (Bowie, Md.) sent Frank Solich at Peden Stadium into a frenzy with Ohio's first kick return touchdown since Nov. 6, 2024. In his first game as the kick returner, Bangura rushed up the middle of the field for 97 yards for the score, giving the Bobcats a 17-13 edge over the RedHawks. A force to be reckoned with, this marked Bangura's second time scoring in the 2025 Battle of the Bricks, logging a 22-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. By the game's end, Bangura had a game-leading 229 all-purpose yards.
The Bobcats will be back in action tomorrow, taking on Western Michigan on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET in Kalamazoo, Mich. That game can be seen on ESPN2.
