Kent, Ohio – The Ohio Women's Soccer Team (3-7-4, 1-3-3 MAC) traveled to Kent, Ohio, to take on the Golden Flashes of Kent State (6-4-4, 4-2-1 MAC). The Bobcats were unable to break through the Golden Flash defense, falling 1-0 to Kent State on the road.
Overall, Ohio tallied six shots compared to Kent State's eight shots, with two shots on goal to the Flashes' four shots on goal. The Bobcats created six corner opportunities to the Flashes' three.
Individually, junior
Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich.) led the Bobcats' offense with two shots and one shot on goal. Junior Jamison Brooker (Powell, Ohio) had one shot, with one shot on goal. Senior
Maia Kaufman (Westerville, Ohio) registered two shots, with graduate student
Quintin Tostevin (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) adding one shot as well.

Celeste Sloma (Columbus, Ohio) started in net for the Bobcats and played in all 90 minutes of play. Sloma gave up one goal, making three saves and facing six shots.
The first half of play was a defensive battle for both teams, with the Bobcats playing down a player due to an early red card. Ohio had three corner chances in the seventh, ninth, and 10
th minutes of play, but were unsuccessful in their attempts. The Bobcats had another corner opportunity in the 14
th minute but were unable to find the back of the net.
In the 23
rd minute, Robinson looked to put the Bobcats on the board first with a shot to the lower right corner, but was denied by the Kent keeper.
The Golden Flashes had three chances of their own in the rest of the half, with no shots on goal.
After 45 minutes of play, neither team was able to find the back of the net, leaving the score tied 0-0 going into the half. Ohio registered one shot with one shot on goal, compared to Kent State's three shots with no shots on goal. The Bobcats had four corner chances to the Golden Flashes' two.
Ohio opened the half with a corner opportunity but was unable to get it past the Kent keeper.
In the 54
th minute, the Golden Flashes were able to find the back of the net first and take a 1-0 lead off a set-piece opportunity. The Bobcats looked to even the score in the 55
th minute, but Brooker's shot was saved by the Kent State goalkeeper.
Kent State had three more shot opportunities in the 62

nd minute, Tostevin looked to tie the game with a long-range shot but just missed the upper right corner. Robinson had another opportunity in the 77

The Bobcats had a free kick chance in the 85
th minute, with Kaufman's shot was just high of the goal. Kaufman looked to give Ohio the last-minute equalizer in the 87
th minute, but her shot would be blocked by the Kent State defense.
Ohio was unable to find the back of the net after 90 minutes of play, ultimately falling to the Golden Flashes 1-0.
