Las Vegas, Nevada [October 1, 2025] – The Ohio football program's graduate student quarterback
Parker Navarro was named to the 2025 Hispanic College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List today, as announced by the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame (HFHOF). Presented annually, the award honors the most outstanding college football player of Hispanic ancestry.
Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.) is currently 84-for-127 with eight passing touchdowns on 1,078 yards in the air. Also a force to be reckoned with on the ground, he's logged 52 carries and three rushing touchdowns on 321 yards.
Navarro was featured on four preseason watch lists this August: the Walter Camp Player of the Year, the Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award. In 2024, he became the second quarterback in program history to log over 1,000 yards on the ground in a single season as well as the first quarterback to record over 2,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in the same season. Navarro earned 2024 All-MAC Second Team Offense accolades and was named both the 2024 MAC Championship Offensive Player of the Game and 2024 StaffDNA Cure Bowl MVP.
The inaugural College Football Watch List recognizes 15 standout Hispanic athletes who are making a significant impact during the 2025 season. Each player has earned a starting role and demonstrated excellence on and off the field.
"Shining a light on Hispanic athletes who are already proving themselves on some of the biggest stages in college football is exactly why we created this Watch List," said Ron Rivera, HFHOF Founding Board Member. "Their stories bring great pride to our community."
"These athletes are not just outstanding performers on the field, they're role models for countless young people who see themselves in their success," said Anthony Muñoz, HFHOF Founding Board Member. "The College Watch List is a powerful way to celebrate heritage, talent, and the bright future of Hispanic football."
