
Ohio Field Hockey Falls to Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Ohio field hockey team (2-3, 0-0 MAC) fell to No. 10 Michigan (3-1, 0-0 BIG 10) 6-0 on Friday evening (Sept. 13). Â
Overall, Ohio was outshot 24-6 with sophomore Natalie LaFleur (Fredericksburg, Va.) and graduate student Meela Kopp (Louisville, Ky.) having Ohio's two shots on goal.Â
Graduate student Macy Lotze (Louisville, Ky.) got the start in net, making six saves in 30 minutes of game time. Freshman Ash Stephenson (Kingston Upon Hull, England) was put in net for the second half, recording four saves.Â
The two teams took turns taking shots in the beginning of the first period, with neither being able to capitalize. Two saves from Lotze kept the game tied as the first quarter came to an end. Michigan capitalized off a penalty corner for their first goal and scored another in the 26th minute for a 2-0 lead entering halftime. Â
 The Bobcats were tested early in the third, taking on six shots throughout the period. Michigan added to their total in the 36th minute for a 3-0 lead. Â
The Wolverines went on to score three in the fourth period, ultimately winning the game, 6-0.Â
Ohio will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 15 to take on Saint Louis back home in Athens, Ohio. First touch at Pruitt Field is set for 12 p.m.Â
