ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio football program's 2024 Homecoming game is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The Bobcats are slated to open Mid-American Conference play for their 2024 Homecoming game, hosting the Akron Zips at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium. The matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System, with Marty Bannister and Rob Cornelius on the call. The television platform will be announced at a later date.
Ohio and Akron first met in 1919 and have a series record of 25-14-1. The two teams last met to close the 2023 regular season. The Bobcats' defense held the Zips to just 14 points, all of which were scored in the second quarter. A dominant third quarter gave Ohio the lead, and the team ultimately left the Rubber City with a 25-14 victory.
The Bobcats return to action this Saturday (Sept. 14), hosting the Morgan State Bears at Frank Solich Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The following week, Ohio hits the road, closing non-conference competition against Kentucky. Kickoff is set for 12:45 p.m. and can be seen on the SEC Network.
