COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team (0-2) concluded the first weekend of play on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 1 , falling  4-0 to No. 20 UAlbany in Columbus, Ohio.Â
Overall, Ohio was outshot 19-4 with graduate student Meela Kopp (Louisville, Ky.) recording two shots, while senior Noa Desmaretz (Antwerp, Belgium) and junior Mary Huffman (Ypsilanti, Mich.) all recording attempts.Â
In net, both graduate student Macy Lotze (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Ash Stephenson (Kingston Upon Hull, England) both played 30 minutes and made a total of five saves
UAlbany struck early on a goal by Eva Jenniskins in the fourth minute. The goal was her first of the season. Ohio held UAlbany off the rest of the period, though, and it took until the 16th minute for UAlbany to score again.Â
Alison Smisdom scored the rest of UAlbany's goals, with one in the second period and two in the third. Her last two goals were just a few minutes a part.Â
The Bobcats tried their best, but they were unable to find the back of the net to break the shutout.Â
Ohio will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 7 to take on Vermont in East Lansing, Michigan. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.Â
