Wrestling Announces 2024-2025 Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio — Ohio Wrestling has released its schedule for the 2024-25 season, Head Coach Joel Greenlee announced today (August 21). All times listed are Eastern Time (EST). 

The Bobcats will start the season in La Crosse, Wis. facing Wisconsin on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. Ohio will get back to the action a week later, Saturday, Nov. 9, in East Lansing, Mich. for the Michigan State Open starting at 9:30 a.m. 
 
The Bobcats will return to the Convocation Center for the first home duel meet of the season on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. against Michigan State.

The Bobcats will head back on the road Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Classic. The tournament will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 starting at 10 a.m. Ohio Wrestling will then head across the country to Las Vegas, Nevada to join the Cliff Keen Invitational. The two-day invitational will start on Friday, Dec. 6 at 12 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.  

Next, Ohio will head to Philadelphia, Pa. to square off against Drexel on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Following the matchup with Drexel, the Bobcats will be in Bloomsburg, Pa. The meet will take place on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. The Bobcats will come home to the Convocation Center on Sunday, Dec. 22 for a match against Gardner-Webb starting at 1 p.m., marking the Bobcats' final meet of the calendar year.  

After their duel against the Vikings, the Bobcats head to Cleveland State on Friday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. to kick off the New Year. A week later Ohio takes to the road for the Mid Major National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa for a two-day meet from Friday, Jan. 10 – Saturday, Jan 11, both days of competition starts at 1 p.m. The Bobcats return to Athens on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. against Edinboro.

The Bobcats will host three back-to-back matches in the Convocation Center. The first match-up is against Northern Illinois on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m., followed by Central Michigan a week later on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. Finishing off with the Bobcats last home match of the season with Kent State for the 'Grudge Match' on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
 
The Bobcats travel to Edwardsville, Ill. to take on against Southern Illinois on Friday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. Ohio finishes off the month on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Buffalo, N.Y. to play the Bulls at 1 p.m.

Two weeks later, the Bobcats will head over to Lawrence Twp, N.J. to participate in the Mid-American Conference Championships. The meet will take place from Friday, March 7 to Saturday, March 8 with a start times of 12 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively.  

Lastly, the Bobcats will look to follow up strong representation at the NCAA Championships from a year ago. Ohio, who sent three wrestlers to Kansas City, Miss. for the championships last year, will seek bring more to Philadelphia, Pa. this year. The NCAA Championships will start on Thursday, March 20 and wrap up on the Saturday, March 22.
