The Bobcats took on Buffalo (15-27, 7-14 MAC), sweeping the doubleheader at Nan Harvey Field. The Bobcats took game one, 3-1 in eight innings, while picking up the 4-1 victory in game two.

GAME ONE: Ohio 3, Buffalo 1
Overall, Ohio scored three runs on eight hits and committed one error, while Buffalo scored one run on four hits and committed one error.

Individually, junior Emma Hoffner (New Stanton, Pa.) went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while freshman Izzie Wilson (Delaware, Ohio) added two hits and an RBI. Senior Sydney Grein (Mokena, Ill.) added a hit and a run scored, while senior Annalia Paoli (Point Marion, Ohio) added a hit and an RBI.

In the circle, redshirt sophomore Skipp Miller (Bradford, Ohio) earned the win, pitching eight innings, allowing one run on four hits, while walking one and striking out six.

The Bobcats got the first baserunner of the game in the top of the third, with senior Tori O'Brien (Mason, Ohio) reaching second on an error. However, the UB defense was able to get out of the jam, sending the game to the bottom of the frame still scoreless.

The Bobcats got on the board in the top of the fourth. After Hoffner reached on a one-out single, Grein replaced her on the bases with a fielder's choice. Moments later Wilson singled to put runners on first and second with two outs, allowing Paoli to single up the middle to score Grein from third. After freshman Brenna Farmer (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio) singled to load the bases, the UB pitcher was able to get the final batter of the inning to strike out, ending the threat, but sending Ohio to the bottom of the frame with the 1-0 lead.

Buffalo threatened to respond in the bottom of the inning, putting runners on first and second with two outs. However, Miller and the Ohio defense were able to get the final batter of the inning to ground out, ending the threat and sending the game to the fifth with Ohio leading, 1-0.

The Bobcats looked to add on in the top of the fifth inning, with junior CiCi Keidel (Hilliard, Ohio) reaching on a leadoff single and senior Yasmine Logan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) drawing a walk to put runners on first and second with one out. After the runners moved up 60 feet, the UB defense was once again able to get out of the jam, sending the game to the bottom of the inning with Ohio still up one.

Buffalo tied the game in the bottom of the seventh off a leadoff home run, sending the game to the eighth tied at 1-1.

The Bobcats retook the lead in the top of the eighth. With one out, Hoffner and Grein reached on back-to-back singles, setting up an RBI single up the middle from Wilson to score Hoffner. After sophomore Belle Hummel (Cincinnati, Ohio) entered to run for Grein, Wilson was caught in a rundown long enough in her attempt to steal, that Hummel scored from third giving the Bobcats a 3-1 lead entering the bottom of the inning.
