Ohio Women's Track & Field Completes Day One of Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded its first day of competition at the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday, April 19.
Ohio kicked off the meet with freshman Saydee Resnik (Greensburg, Pa.) and graduate student Kassidy Betzing (Pomeroy, Ohio) finishing 18th and 19th in the women's javelin. Resnik recorded a mark of 32.39 meters (106-3) and Betzing finished with a mark of 31.28 meters (102-7).
Sophomores Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) and Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) ran personal-best times in the women's 1500m. Martin placed 13th with a time of 4:32.19 and Mason came in 16th place with a time of 4:35.00.
Junior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.) represented Ohio in the women's 200m. Booker ran a time of 25.10, finishing 26th in the event.
Three Bobcats competed in the women's 5,000 meters. Sophomore Morgan Roth (Brunswick, Ohio) took home 13th place with a time of 17:39.21, freshman Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) finished 27th with a time of 18:08.74 and junior Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) finished 28th with a time of 18:10.66.
The Bobcats will continue competition at the Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday, April 20.
