CLEVELAND -- Ohio football graduate student quarterback
Kurtis Rourke was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Sept. 27).
Rourke, a Coaching Education Major with a 4.0 GPA, led the Bobcats to its first MAC win of the season on Saturday, leading Ohio to a 38-7 victory over Bowling Green on the road.
Overall, Rourke went 14-of-16 for 196 yards and three touchdowns, with a long completion of 42 yards. On the ground, Rourke gained 33 yards on four attempts, with a long rush of 16 yards, while averaging 8.3 yards and attempt.
Rourke and the Bobcats have a bye this week, but are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 when they host Kent State for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
